UK under-secretary meets foreign minister

Permanent Under-Secretary of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK, Simon McDonald, met Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali today.

This was the first ever visit of a British under-secretary to Bangladesh.

At the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Ali hoped that the strategic dialogue between Bangladesh and UK, that is going to be held today, will be successful and will be able to review all the issues of bilateral interest, said a ministry's press release. 

During the meeting, Simon McDonald handed over a letter from UK foreign minister to Foreign Minister Ali inviting him to visit UK this year.
