Uber to introduce bike service in Dhaka from tomorrow

Global pioneer app-based ride-hailing service Uber is going to launch bike service UberMOTO for customers in Dhaka from tomorrow morning.

Uber made the announcement on its official Facebook page this evening.

According to the Facebook page rider can travel four kilometres with less than Tk 60 in the capital.

The popular rideshare venture also declared the rate of the fare. According to the rate, the fare will be less than Tk 120 for around eight kilometres distance and for 20 kilometres distance, the fare will be less than Tk 300.

However, the company did not mention clear about the base fare, waiting for charges or per kilometre fare on its Facebook page.

An official of the authority said there will be no waiting charges for the service and further information will be given after the service hit the market.

The MOTO drivers will have one helmet for the rider and all riders and drivers are bound to wear the helmet as per the relevant law.

To get the service, Uber users will have to select MOTO in the app, enter the pickup location and payment method and request a ride, receive driver details including name, photo and details of the motorbike, the official added.

Riders can pay in cash, credit or debit card and receive an electronic receipt via the Uber app.
