Two killed in road accidents

At least two people were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Savar yesterday.

RMG worker Rejaul Haque, 30, was killed when a Nabinagar bound bus hit him on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Hemayetpur in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, reports our correspondent.

Meanwhile, in Chittagong, truck helper Md Ekram, 25, died on spot after the truck overturned on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Sitakunda upazila, reports our local correspondent.

The incident also left the driver Md Yunus injured, who was rescued and admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

In another incident at Sitakunda upazila, Shahin, 28, was injured when potato laden truck he was riding on crashed into the roadside trees, police said.

He was also taken to CMCH for treatment, said Robiul Azam, station officer of Mirsarai Fire Station.
