Two killed in Jamalpur road accidents

Two persons were killed and four others injured when a cement-laden covered-van rammed a battery-run auto-rickshaw carrying them on Jamalpur-Dewanganj road in Malancha area of Melandah upazila in Jamalpur yesterday.

The dead are Konika, 7, daughter of Azamuddin; and Biplob, 25, driver of the auto-rickshaw.

The covered-van hit the auto-rickshaw from behind, Melandah police quoted witnesses as saying.

Biplob succumbed to his injuries on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The injured were rushed to Jamalpur General Hospital.
