Two held with 18,000 yaba pills

Detectives of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two persons with 18,000 yaba pills in Charfarid area under Karnaphuli Police Station on Friday night.

The arrestees are Jafar Alam, 38, of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, and Md Hossen alias Kajol, 24, of Chandanish upazila, Chittagong.

On information, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) raided a pickup truck in front of a local fuelling station and detained the duo, said police.

Later based on their confession, police seized 18,000 yaba pills from a secret chamber under the driver's seat of the struck, they added.

A case was lodged.
