Two cops held with Phensedyl

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) held two policemen with contraband Phensedyl syrup near Sonaikandi border outpost in Paba upazila of Rajshahi yesterday.

Nazim Uddin, 25, and Ziaur Rahman, 26, both constables of Rajshahi Police Lines, were sent to jail after they were produced before a court in the afternoon, said Parimal Kumar Chakrawarty, officer-in-charge (OC) of Paba Police Station.

On suspicion, a BGB team challenged them while they were heading towards Rajshahi city from Sonaikandi border yesterday early hours.

They then recovered 15 bottles of smuggled Indian Phensedyl from a bag carried by Nizam, said the OC.

BGB filed a case in the morning with the police station, the OC added.
