Yaba smugglers again arrested with 80,000 pills in Ctg
Although they were arrested once for Yaba smuggling, they did not learn their lesson. Rab personnel yesterday again detained two members of a Yaba smuggling ring who were up to their old tricks.
Md Jakir Hossain, 26, and Jashim Uddin Rana, 35, were detained in Nimtala Bisworoad of Chittagong city with 80,000 Yaba tablets and Tk 1.5 lakh in cash. The two belong to a syndicate led by Jahidul Islam alias Alo.
They along with other members of their gang were arrested in last December and were released on bail this May.
They were carrying the tablets hidden in the dashboard of a mini pickup van, said Sohel Mahmud, assistant director (media) of Rab-7. On December 26, 2014, Rab-7 arrested Alo and five of his associates, including the duo, with over two lakh Yaba tablets, a foreign pistol, three bullets, and Tk 19 lakh in cash in Halishahar area of Chittagong.
