True religious education for children stressed

Children have to be provided with true religious education to get rid of militancy, said Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin yesterday.

He was addressing as the chief guest a roundtable meeting titled “Militancy: Perspective Bangladesh” at Chittagong Circuit House yesterday, organised by Bangladesh Human Rights Commission, the city unit.

Terming militancy a conspiracy, the mayor said there were local as well as international politics behind it. To check terrorism, the masterminds behind it have to be found out and brought to book, he said. BHRC the city unit president Mohammad Abul Hashem chaired the programme.
