Tongi factory fire: 3 more bodies found in debris

Three more bodies were recovered from the rubble of Tampaco Foils Factory Ltd in Tongi raising the death toll from the deadly fire incident to 39.

Firefighters pulled out the remains of the three victims between 11:30am and 1:15pm while removing the rubble, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting Akhtaruzzaman, deputy assistant director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defence.

The packaging factory collapsed after a devastating fire originated inside the building on September 10.

Titas Gas recently probed the incident and found evidence of gas use beyond the approved limit at the Tampaco foils factory.
