Rough weather halts water transport services for an hour

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) today suspended for an hour the operation of all water vessels from Sadarghat launch terminal due to inclement weather.

Water vessels plying on 43 routes were shut down from 10:00am to 11:00am, Alamgir Kabir, joint director of BIWTA told The Daily Star.

Prior to the shutdown, at least fifty launches left Sadarghat launch terminal.

Meanwhile, at least 166 water vessels left the launch terminal last night.
