Man dies after truck hits him near Matsya Bhaban

A man died after he was hit by a truck near Matsya Bhaban area of Dhaka early today.

The identity of the deceased aged around 50 could not be known yet, Matiur Rahman, sub-inspector of Shahbagh Police Station told The Daily Star.

The incident occurred when a sand-laden truck hit the man when he was crossing a road in front of Matsya Bhaban intersection around 4:00am, the police official said.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).  

Police also seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene, the official added.
