TI global board chair arrives in city

José Carlos Ugaz Sánchez-Moreno, the chair of the international board of directors of Transparency International, arrived in the city yesterday on a two-day visit, said a Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) press release last night.

This is his first visit to Bangladesh since he was elected its chair in 2014, it added.

The purpose of the visit hosted by TIB is to facilitate mutual sharing and learning, and draw on global as well as Bangladesh's experiences of progress in promoting good governance and preventing corruption.

Ugaz will meet senior officials of the government, academics, researchers, and stakeholders from NGOs and media.
