Three killed in road accidents in Sylhet, Chittagong

Three people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in the country yesterday.

Our Sylhet correspondent reports, a person was killed and four others were injured when a lorry collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Sylhet-Barlekha road in Mullapur of Beanibazar upazila of Sylhet.

The deceased was Mujibur Rahman Shakil, 20, son of Tota Miah of Sreedharpur village of Moulvibazar.

The injured were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.

Staff correspondent of Chittagong adds, Md Motaleb, 27, a van puller of Bhola district, died when a bus hit him from behind in Chandgaon Bus Stand area.

Meanwhile, motorcyclist Pinon Roy, 35, died when an oncoming truck hit his motorbike at Mazirghat under Sadarghat Police Station in the port city yesterday evening.

Pinon was talking over the cell phone while riding the motorbike, said police.

Police seized the truck but the driver fled the scene.
