Three 'Huji men' arrested

Detectives yesterday arrested three suspected members of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (Huji) in the capital's Kotwali area.

They are Nazim Uddin, 40, president of the Dhaka north unit of the banned militant outfit, and activists Anas, 21, and Saiduzzaman, 28, Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told The Daily Star.

Detectives said during primary interrogation they confessed to being active members of the group.

Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said a case was filed accusing the trio under Anti-Terrorism Act.

The OC added that the detectives were investigating the matter.
