Three die from electrocution

Two workers were killed and their co-worker was injured as they were electrocuted at a refuelling station in the capital's Uttara yesterday.

The deceased -- Abdul Halim, 40, and Bullet, 25 -- are painters by profession, Turag Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nurul Muttakin told The Daily Star.

The OC said the three were painting standing on an iron ladder which got electrified as it touched an electric cable.

The injured, whose identity could not be known immediately, was taken to East-West Medical College Hospital.

Our Bandarban correspondent adds, a construction worker died from electrocution and another sustained injuries as they came in contact with a live electric wire while working at an under construction market in the town yesterday, said police.

The dead, Nurul Amin, 40, hailed from Langi Para area in Bandarban Sadar upazila.
