Ten hurt in Magura clash, 30 houses ransacked

At least 10 persons were injured and 30 houses ransacked and looted in a clash between two groups of villagers at Sobdalpur in Sreepur upazila of Magura yesterday.

Police opened several rounds of bullets to bring the situation under control.

Locals said there was a longstanding feud between Awami League supporter Sabbir Hossain and BNP supporter Mir Hafizar Rahman over establishing supremacy in the area.

As a sequel to the feud, supporters of the duo locked in a clash at Sobdalpur Bazar on Friday around 8:30pm, which resumed yesterday morning, they added.

Sudarshan Roy, additional superintendent of Magura, said four of the injured were admitted to Magura Sadar Hospital.
