Teenage boy drowns in Buriganga river in Keraniganj

A teenage boy drowned in the river Buriganga while having a bath in Keraniganj of Dhaka this afternoon.

The deceased Mohammad Yamin, 15, used to work at a tailor shop in Jinjira area of Keraniganj.

Due to load-shedding and hot weather, he along with three to four companions went to the river around 2:00am for having a bath, Yamin's uncle Md Jashim told The Daily Star. 

Unfortunately, he drowned after bathing in the river for almost half an hour, although he could swim.

His companions then informed the fire service department, who recovered the body around 3:00pm, Jashim added.
