Tabith Awal, BNP-backed mayoral candidate for Dhaka North City Corporation, submitted a written complaint to the presiding officer of Tejgaon College in Dhaka this morning saying that his polling agents were barred from entering the polling centre.

He submitted the written complaint to the presiding officer around 9:55am.

Later, Tabith visited Ali Hossain Girls School in Shangkar and expressed his satisfaction over the voting process over there.

Terming the centres in Tejgaon area “vulnerable”, Tabith claimed that badges of some of his polling agents were torn there.

He also visited Tejgaon Model High School around 9:15am and alleged that environment was not good at the centre.

While visiting Abu Taleb High School in Mirpur, our correspondent found no polling agent of “Bus”, the electoral symbol for Tabith, at the centre in the morning.

There were two voting centers on the school premises with a total of 10 booths. One center had a total of 2195 voters, the total number of votes cast were 216.

The other voting center with a total of 2157 voters saw only 288 votes being casted till 10:00am.
