Tabith alleges obstruction, seeks EC action

Bringing allegations of obstructions in election campaign, BNP-blessed mayor aspirant for Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Tabith Awal has lodged a complaint with Election Commission and returning officer seeking necessary actions.

In facsimile, he told the election authorities that his posters had been torn down by a ruling party-backed candidate in Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University area and one of his supporters, Shahabuddin, was picked up by police without any reason during campaign on April 18.

Tabith also attached paper clippings of attack on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, an EC official told The Daily Star.
