Sweden, Oman get new envoys

The government has decided to appoint Md Nazmul Islam as the next Bangladesh ambassador to Sweden.

Nazmul will replace Md Golam Sarwar, who has been made the ambassador to Oman, according to two foreign ministry press releases yesterday.

Nazmul, a career diplomat of 15th BCS, is currently serving as the director general (administration) in foreign affairs ministry.  He served as the consul general in Jeddah and counsellor in Beijing, and in Bangladesh missions in Jakarta and London in different capacities.

Sarwar, a career diplomat of 10th BCS, served as the consul general in Jeddah, and minister in Washington DC. He also served in Bangladesh missions in Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur and Yangon in different capacities.
