Six 'robbers' arrested in Dhaka

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-2) claimed to have arrested six robbers with sharp weapons in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of Dhaka early yesterday.

The arrestees -- Rakibul Hasan Sujon, 27, Imran Fakir, 22, Shamim Rari, 22, Harun Bepari, 35, Rahedul Islam, 25 and Md Liton, 26 -- were preparing for a robbery, said Firoz Kawsar, assistant superintendent of police, also media officer of Rab-2.

The elite force also recovered two machetes, two daggers, one knife, one seizer and four cell phones from their possessions, he said.
