Six burnt in two Dhaka fires

Six persons were burnt in two incidents in the capital yesterday.

A fire in a Radhika Mohon Basak Lane house in Kotwali injured two persons, said police, suspecting that the fire started from a burning mosquito coil in a room where gas accumulated. With 80 percent burns, Hira, 23, and Rubel, 24, were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, DMCH sources said.

In Jatrabari, a fire in a fan factory injured its workers -- Shaon, 12, Aklima, 17, Shamim, 13, and Sohel, 38, according to DMCH police outpost. With 22 percent burns, Shaon was hospitalised while the rest took primary treatment. The reason behind the fire was unknown.
