Shilpakala academy sought in Savar

Hundreds of cultural activists yesterday demanded that the  authorities immediately start construction work of Savar Shilpakala Academy.

They formed a human chain on Adhar Chandra High School premises in Savar to press home their demand.

In May last year the foundation stone for the construction was laid, however the work has not seen any progress ever since, speakers said.

As there is a land dispute, centring the site, the demonstrators demanded to shift it to another location. Last year LGED ministry approved Tk  1,88,97,975 for setting up Savar Upazila Shilpakala Academy.c
