The DU authorities have to reinstate Prof Shahadat immediately after receiving the HC verdict, the teacher’s lawyer Barrister Aneek R Haque told The Daily Star.

He said two female students of social science department brought allegation against their teacher Prof Shahadat of sexually harassing them in December last year.

Following their allegation, the DU authorities dismissed Prof Shahadat on March 6 this year, the lawyer said, adding that the DU authorities’ decision to dismiss his client was illegal, as he was not given any scope to defend himself.
