Schoolgirl hurt as ceiling fan falls on her in classroom

A schoolgirl was critically injured as a ceiling fan fell on her at the school in Barisal yesterday.

Maksuda Akter, 13, is a class-eight student of Sathikhola Government Primary School in Bakerganj upazila of the district. She is undergoing treatment at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Salma Yeasmin, headmistress of the school, said Maksuda was in the classroom when the incident occurred. She was rushed to the hospital immediately.

The ceiling fan was installed two months ago, said the headmistress.

They will take the responsibility of the injured, she added.
