Satkhira Zila Parishad typist arrested with bribe

A Satkhira Zila Parishad office typist was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) after he was caught on the spot taking bribe from a school teacher yesterday.

Assistant Director Mohatab Uddin of ACC later filed a case with Satkhira Model Police Station in this regard.

According to the case statement, the typist, AKM Shahiduzzaman, demanded 30 percent of Tk 3 lakh donation that Mehedi Hasan, headteacher of Devnagar Begum Rokeya Secondary School, had applied for with the chief executive officer of the Zila Parishad.

After the headteacher complained to the ACC about the demand, a team of ACC went to the Zila Parishad office in Satkhira and arrested Shahiduzzaman around 11:30am while he was receiving Tk 1 lakh bribe.
