Samakal editor gets award

Editor of The Daily Samakal Golam Sarwar was honoured with “Ataus Samad Memorial Trust Lifetime Achievement Award” for his contribution to journalism at a programme at Dhaka University (DU) yesterday.

Five students of mass communication and journalism department of DU also received Ataus Samad Trust scholarships for their academic results in BSS examinations. Late journalist ABM Musa donated money to introduce Ataus Samad Memorial Trust Fund at DU. 

DU Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique handed over those to the awardees. Columnist Syed Abul Maksud delivered the memorial lecture on 'Philosophy of Journalism.'
