Road crashes kill three

Three people were killed and 11 others injured in road accidents in the country yesterday.

Our Mymensingh correspondent reports, a lorry driver was killed and 10 other people were injured when a Mymensingh-bound bus collided head-on with the vehicle at Hazir Bazar on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Bhaluka upazila of Mymensingh.

The deceased was Foysal Miah, 35, son of Babul of village Narayanpur in Trishal upazila.

Our Tangail correspondent adds, a motorcyclist was killed and his co-rider injured when a truck ran over their motorcycle on Dhaka-Tangail highway in Tangail Sadar upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Abdul Karim, 45, of Haldia in Kalihati upazila. Injured Bashir Ali was admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital. Hundreds of vehicles got stuck on the road for about an hour as the motorbike mangled under the truck caught fire.

Meanwhile, a mini-truck driver, Abdur Razzak, 30, of Ghona area in Madhupur upazila, died when the vehicle hit another rice-laden truck on Tangail-Mymensingh road at Atharodana in Ghatail upazila.
