Road crashes kill 5, injure 4

Five people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in five districts yesterday and on Saturday.

In Dinajpur, a 10-year-old boy was killed and his parents were injured critically as a bus hit a three-wheeler carrying them from behind on Dinajpur-Bogra highway in Ambari area of Chirirbandar upazila yesterday.

The deceased was Fahim Ahmed, son of Noor Nabi, of Jagatpur village.

In Chittagong, a motorcyclist was killed and his two co-riders were injured as a bus hit their vehicle in Baroiarhat area of Fatikchhari upazila yesterday afternoon.

The deceased was Anwar Hossain, 18, of Uttar Rangamatia area in the upazila. The injured were sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

In Natore Sadar, Nikhil Kumar Chandra was killed when a microbus hit his bicycle on Natore-Rajshahi highway in Ekdala area yesterday afternoon.

Nikhil was a former assistant teacher of Chandpur High School in the upazila.

In Chapainawabganj Sadar, Shah Alam, 25, of Ramjibonpur village was killed when a sand-laden tractor hit a battery-run rickshaw-van carrying him in Atahar area yesterday.

In Panchagarh, Md Kajol, 28, was killed as a microbus hit his motorcycle on Debiganj-Boda road in the upazila headquarters on Saturday afternoon.
