Road crashes kill 4

Four people were killed and 10 others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In Sirajganj, two people were killed and 10 others injured as a gas-laden tank lorry collided head-on with a bus on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Khalkuna area of Tarash upazila.

The deceased were Rafiqul Islam, 35, of Bogra and Tajimul Hossain, 50, of Chapainawabganj Sadar. Rafiqul was the helper of the lorry and Tajimul was a passenger of the bus. They died on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital.

In Sylhet, Abdul Hannan, 65, of Sarnasikha Residential area was killed as a bus of run him over in Kadamtali area yesterday.

Following the incident, agitated locals blocked the road at Humayun Rashid Chattar for several hours and vandalised some vehicles.

In Manikganj, Md Rabbil, 16, of Airmara village was killed as a truck rammed his motorcycle at Nayakandi of Manikganj municipality. He was a 10th-grader of Nabarun High School in the area.
