7-yr-old boy fatally run over by SUV

A seven year-old-boy was killed after being hit by an SUV in the capital's Hatirjheel yesterday evening.

Raihan, a playgroup student of a school at Rampura, went on the road unmindfully while playing when the accident took place, Sentu Chandra Das, assistant sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp, told The Daily Star.

The vehicle sped away from the spot. 

Raihan, the only child of Liton, a push-cart driver, was declared dead by the doctors at the DMCH.

Meanwhile in Sabujbagh, an unidentified woman, around 60, was killed after getting hit by a truck while crossing the road at the Madartek area.

Police arrested the driver Firoz, 21, who was driving with a fake license and seized the vehicle.
