Road crash kills teenager in capital

A teenage madrasa student was killed as a battery-run auto-rickshaw hit him while he was crossing a road in the capital's Uttara yesterday.

Rasel, of Shimultali in Gazipur, was on the way to his aunt's house in Kamarpara along with his grandfather when the accident occurred, said police at Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the 12-year-old was declared dead.

The body was sent to DMC morgue for autopsy. In another accident in Chittagong city, an RMG worker was killed as a three-wheeler hit him while he was crossing a road at Hazi Camp in Pahartali area yesterday.

The deceased Abdur Razzaque, 30, was a resident of Barek Building area in the city. He used to work at a nearby garment factory, said police.
