Road accidents kill 4 in 3 districts

At least four people were killed and 16 others injured in separate road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In Madaripur Sadar upazila, truck driver Al-Amin Howlader, 24, and his helper Faruk Howkader, 35, were killed on the spot when the truck collided head-on with a bus on Madaripur-Shariatpur road, Sumon Kumar Day, assistant superintendent of police in Madaripur said, quoting locals.

The incident left 15 others injured. Of them, two were sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and others were admitted to Faridpur Medical Collage Hospital, he added.

In Dinajpur, Milon Hossain, 38, was killed under the wheels of a tractor in Joypurhat Sadar upazila, police quoted locals as saying.

The accident took place when Milon accidentally fell from the tractor and the vehicle ran him over, police added.

Meanwhile, Habibur Rahman, 30, of Kalukhali upazila in Rajbari died in a road accident, reports our local correspondent.

Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge of Kalukhali Police Station Md Aminul Islam said the accident took place when a three-wheeler lost control and fell into a roadside ditch.

The accident left Lotif Mondol, 35, of the same upazila, injured. He was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, the police official added.
