RMG worker raped in Dhaka's Dakkhin Khan

A ready made garment worker aged around 14 years was allegedly raped by her coworker in Dakkhin Khan area of Dhaka this morning, police said.

Police detained Mehedi Hasan as he was shown accused of the rape case lodged with Dakkhin Khan Police Station,Tapan Kumar Shaha, officer-in-charge of the police station, told The Daily Star this evening.

According to the case statement, the OC said Mehedi picked the victim up to a nearby area and raped her after she reached her working place located in Faidabadarea around 8:00am.

The victim was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment and forensic test, the police officer said.
