Rejoinder

FCI (BD) Ltd yesterday issued a rejoinder to a news item headlined “Savar RMG workers protest unpaid overtime” published in The Daily Star on July 1.

Below we publish parts of the text of the rejoinder as it is:

“The news/report which is published in your daily is not correct. It is false and baseless. FCI (BD) Ltd is known to all as a good pay master in all respects in the RMG sector. It cannot be thought in case of FCI that any unpaid overtime will be done here or any worker is forced to work. Actually, without any reason or any prior information yesterday at about 7:00am some undisciplined workers suddenly stop their works and attacked our three officers. This undisciplined workers vandalized machines, C.C. Camera, Computer and office furniture.”

The story however mentioned that The Daily Star could not reach FCI (BD) authorities despite repeated attempts.
