Rajuk seals off 11 businesses in Gulshan residential area

A mobile court of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartipakkha (Rajuk) yesterday sealed off seven restaurants, one beauty parlour and three offices for their illegal business operations in residential areas at the capital's Gulshan-1.

Utility services of some of these establishments were also cut off.

Classic Rock Coffee Co on road no. 3 and Food Palace on road no. 1 in the area are among the sealed off restaurants.

According to Rajuk, a total of 342 restaurants, 62 hotels and guest houses, 16 bars, 56 schools, 3 colleges, 23 universities, and 50 hospitals and medical centres are illegally operating in Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara areas.

Earlier, the government issued eviction notices to 13,000 commercial establishments built in residential areas under the country's city corporations.
