Rab rescues abducted girl in N’ganj

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-11 yesterday rescued five-year-old Kabita Akter from Shibu Market area, after she was abducted from Fatullah on Tuesday.

The elite forces arrested Asia Akter, a female member of the child trafficking gang, said a press release sent by Babul Akhter, assistant director of Rab 11.

Asia abducted Kabita, and demanded Tk 60,000 as ransom from her father Humayun, the press release said.   

She also realized Tk 5,000 from Kabita’s family through bKash.

On Wednesday Humayun lodged a complaint with RAB-11 in this regard.

RAB-11 conducted a raid on Dhaka-Narayanganj Link road and rescued Kabita.  

A case was filed against Asia in this connection.
