‘Rab feared in action’

People fear Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in their action and activities, a top Rab officer said today while making his point that there is no need for army deployment in the upcoming city corporation elections.

“Anyone who will be involved in any violence will have to pay for it,” Rab Additional Director General Col Ziaul Ahsan added.

He came up with the remark while talking to reporters after a meeting at National Economic Council (NEC) Auditorium in Dhaka with officials of Election Commission, home ministry and law enforcement agencies this afternoon.

The Rab official also said those who are involved in arson attacks need to be squashed to ensure a fair election
