The amount of Tk 50.50 lakh of Pubali Bank, which went missing on Thursday in Chittagong's Sitakunda upazila, could not be traced till yesterday afternoon.

The five employees include Junior officer (cash) Razibur Rahman, armed guards Tanzu Rahman, Mazharul Islam and Ashikur Rahman, and micro-bus driver Bijoy Kumar Das of the bank's CDA corporate branch.

Riad Mahmud, inspector (investigation) of Sitakunda Police Station and investigation officer (IO) of the case, said police produced them before a Chittagong court with a-7 day remand prayer for each.

The court granted Bijoy a one-day remand and the remaining four a 2-day remand each.

Mentionable, a total of Tk50.50 lakh of Publi bank went mysteriously missing on Thursday when a team comprising the five was heading for Chittagong city with the money in their micro-bus from Sitakunda upazila.
