Prof Sayeed to undergo hip surgery
He was hurt after falling on Sonargaon Road last night
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro Founder Prof Abdullah Abu Sayeed, who was injured last night after he fell on a road, has to go through a surgery on his hip soon, a doctor said today.
Prof Sayeed is currently undergoing treatment at Samorita Hospital in Dhaka. He is kept under observation.
The surgery will take place within a day or two when his physical condition would be found stable, Prof M Abdus Samad, a doctor of the hospital, told The Daily Star.
“We found his right hip’s joint (neck of the femur) was fractured which will be replaced through the surgery,” Prof Samad, who is treating Prof Sayeed, told the correspondent while he was visiting the hospital.
On Saturday around 7:30pm, Prof Sayeed slipped from a road divider when he was crossing the Sonargaon Road in front of Banglavision office.
Later, the driver of his car brought him to the hospital, family members of Prof Sayeed said.
