Pro-AL journalists join campaign

Pro-Awami League journalists of Khulna city have recently formed an organisation to work in favour of AL mayoral candidate Talukder Abdul Khaleque.  

Titled “Khulnar Sacheton Sangbadik Samaj,” the platform brought together members from Khulna Union of Journalists and regional Newspaper Owners Association. It has been carrying out election campaign to woo voters. 

Joining the campaign yesterday, President of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul urged the city dwellers to vote for the symbol boat.

Khulna Press Club President Faruk Hossain and General Secretary Mallick Sudhangsu, Khulna Union of Journalists President SM Zahid Hossain and General Secretary Shah Alam, among others, took part in the campaign.

Asked, Shah Alam said there is nothing wrong in joining election campaign; it is practiced all over the world including in the US. “We believe that Khaleque is a qualified candidate for the mayoral post, and he will be able to ensure the city's development.”
