Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated the 'Police Plaza', a newly-built commercial building of Bangladesh Police Welfare Trust, in the city’s Gulshan area.

Sheikh Hasina opened the 'Police Plaza' by unveiling the plaque on the Ground Floor of the Plaza. State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan and IGP M Shahidul Haque were, among others, present.

The multistoried commercial building, jointly built by Bangladesh Police Welfare Trust and Concord Group at Gulshan-1, is a centrally air-conditioned shopping complex and offices equipped with modern facilities.

The 12-storey building having the foundation of 16-storey one has been built on nearly one acre of land with the Concord Engineers and Construction Limited as the constructing firm.

The Plaza consists of two towers -- Tower 1 and Tower 2 -- having three basements with parking facilities for 241 vehicles. The first five floors of the building is the shopping complex while the floors from sixth to twelfth would be used for commercial purpose as offices.

Ministers, members of diplomatic corps, secretaries, political and cultural personalities and people from various professions attended the inaugural function.
