Petition filed challenging case against 103 BNP men

BNP-backed mayoral candidate for Gazipur City Corporation election, Hasan Uddin Sarker, yesterday filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the legality of proceedings in a vandalism case against 103 BNP men.

In the petition, he prayed to the HC to stay the trial and issue a rule asking government to explain the legality of the proceedings.

The HC may hold a hearing on the petition next week, said Hasan Uddin's lawyer Barrister Sanjid Siddique.
