Online teachers' hiring from April

The government will start recruiting teachers at the non-government educational institutions, which enjoy monthly pay order (MPO) facilities, under a new system online from next month.

An agreement was signed yesterday between the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) and state-owned mobile operator Teletalk to this end at the education ministry.

AMS Azhar, chairman of NTRCA; and Gias Uddin Ahmed, managing director of Teletalk, signed the deal in the presence of Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim.

Nahid told the signing ceremony that the management committees of the institutions would only issue letters of appointment, adding that the NTRCA would collect the number of vacant posts from all over the country.
