Obituary

Noor-Al-Ahad, father of Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata Zokey Ahad, died yesterday. He was 86.

He breathed his last around 4:30pm at Apollo Hospitals in Kolkata, said Mofakkharul Iqbal, first secretary, Bangladesh Deputy High Commission Kolkata.

A deputy commissioner of greater Barisal in 1974, Noor-Al-Ahad left behind three sons.

One of his sons Captain Zaki Ahad is the commandant and executive director of Bangladesh Maritime Training Institute and International Maritime Academy.
