Obituary

Short story writer Kazi Shamsun Nahar, wife of eminent journalist late AKM Shahidul Huq, died of old-age complications at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital early Wednesday. She was 72.

Nahar, mother of Shahriar Shahid, managing editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and artist and designer late Shahruk Shahid; was a prolific writer and editor of now defunct fortnightly "Disha". She is survived by son journalist Shahriar Shahid and two daughters. She was supposed to be buried at her family graveyard in Ghorashal. Nahar wrote the novels “Sulta Dibya Jina”, “Swapnil Kabya” and “Asharer Purnima”.
