Obituary

Mozahar Hossain, former lawmaker and president of Panchagarh district unit BNP, died due to lung cancer at a Dhaka hospital on Monday, aged 71. He left behind his wife, two daughters and a son.

His first namaz-e-janaza was held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban yesterday. His second namaz-e-janaza will be held at Sher-e-Bangla Park in Panchagarh Sadar at 10:00am today and he will be buried in his village Prodhanpara after third namaz-e-janaza at Sakoya College at 2:00pm.

Mozahar started politics with Communist Party of Bangladesh and was elected an MP in 1991 getting nomination from Awami Legue-led alliance. Later, he joined BNP and was elected an MP in 1996 and 2001.
