NU first convocation on Jan 17

The first ever convocation of National University (NU) will be held on January 17 since its establishment in 1992, said a press release.

NU Vice Chancellor Prof Harun-or-Rashid made the announcement at a press conference at its Dhaka office yesterday.

President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of NU, is expected to be present as chief guest to hand over certificates among 4,932 graduates, who completed honours and master’s degree from different institutions under NU between 1998 and 2012.

Of them, eight students will be given gold medals for their brilliant results.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid and University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan will also be present.
