NSU starts celebrating silver jubilee

North South University, the first private university in the country, has started celebrating its silver jubilee.

The first session of the opening ceremony began with a rally, a human formation of the national flag and the NSU silver jubilee celebration logo followed by the launch of NSU theme song, performed by Bappa Majumder and a number of NSU students, and a cultural programme performed by Confucius Institute on the NSU campus, says an NSU press release.

The second session started with a discussion where Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu was the chief guest while prime minister's International Affairs Adviser Prof Gowher Rizvi was the guest of honour. NSU Board of Trustees Chairman Azim Uddin Ahmed and Vice Chancellor Atiqul Islam also spoke.

Various programmes, club activities and alumni events were held yesterday.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed is scheduled to attend the final day programmes as the chief guest with prime minister's Political Adviser HT Imam as the guest of honour.
