No traffic jam during Eid

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said there will be no traffic congestion during Eid.

“Our preparation is much better this time. The four lane highways are in better condition. We've also made sure that the construction work for the Joydebpur-Elenga highway does not hamper traffic movement. The holidaymakers will be much relaxed…,” he said.

The minister said this while visiting Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Cherag Ali area of Gazipur.

“We will clean up the highways before Eid and dismantle illegal structures from them after Eid, at any cost,” he said, adding, it will not be possible to achieve all of these overnight.
